Amway India Accelerates Growth with Nutrilite Ayurveda, Expanding Its Product Innovation Portfolio
Amway India Bets on Product Innovation with the Launch of Nutrilite Ayurveda
Amway India has announced a strategic expansion into Ayurveda with the launch of Nutrilite Ayurveda, introducing a new portfolio of wellness products that combines traditional Ayurvedic knowledge with Nutrilite’s botanical science and research capabilities. The company aims to build Nutrilite Ayurveda into a ₹100 crore category over the next two years.
The launch marks a significant addition to Amway India’s health and wellbeing portfolio and strengthens the company’s focus on product innovation in the Indian market. It also contributes to the broader Ayurveda value chain—from responsible sourcing of botanicals and supporting local farmers to manufacturing, research and innovation.
The new portfolio brings together more than 5,000 years of Ayurveda wisdom with 90 years of Nutrilite’s botanical science. The products will be manufactured at Amway India’s state-of-the-art facility in Tamil Nadu, supporting the company’s focus on local manufacturing and the broader “Make in India” vision.
Speaking to the media at the launch, Rajneesh Chopra, Managing Director, Amway India, said, “India is witnessing a significant transformation in traditional wellness, driven by the Government of India’s focus on strengthening the AYUSH ecosystem and advancing Ayurveda as an integral part of the country’s health and wellbeing landscape. This is creating a strong foundation for Ayurveda to thrive in India and gain greater relevance globally. As India strengthens its capabilities in Ayurveda-led innovation and manufacturing, this growing ecosystem has the potential to create new economic opportunities and strengthen India’s position as a globally relevant hub for traditional wellness. This momentum aligns seamlessly with Amway India’s next chapter of growth and our ambition to contribute meaningfully to India’s vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. Reflecting our confidence in the potential of Ayurveda, we aim to build Nutrilite Ayurveda into a ₹100 crore category over the next two years.”
He added, “Today’s consumers are increasingly embracing Ayurveda as an everyday approach to wellness, while also seeking the transparency, consistency and scientific validation associated with modern wellness products. At Nutrilite, trust is at the heart of what we offer. For Nutrilite Ayurveda, ‘Every Herb Has a Story. We Make Sure It’s True’ is more than a promise. It reflects our commitment to the quality and traceability of every botanical we offer, enabling consumers to embrace Ayurveda with greater confidence.”
Nutrilite Ayurveda Portfolio
The first phase of the rollout introduces three Ayurvedic formulations:
- Kalamegha, formulated to support healthy liver function.
- Shigru (Moringa), positioned to support healthy metabolism and address fat deposition and inflammation.
- Vrikshamla (Garcinia), formulated to support metabolism and satiety.
The portfolio will subsequently expand with additional Ayurveda-based innovations, with the company unveiling nine new innovations under the Nutrilite Ayurveda portfolio.
The launch comes as consumers increasingly take a proactive approach to health and wellness, with growing expectations around ingredient sourcing, product efficacy, authenticity and transparency. Nutrilite Ayurveda seeks to address these expectations by combining traditional Ayurvedic ingredients with modern quality and testing processes.
The Ayurvedic botanicals used in the portfolio are responsibly sourced from organically cultivated, Nutricert-certified farms, supporting Nutrilite’s focus on sustainable agriculture and responsible sourcing.
The products are backed by Nutrilite’s research and development capabilities and undergo a range of quality and authenticity checks, including DNA fingerprinting, active ingredient testing and seed-to-supplement traceability. The formulations are also subjected to multi-step testing for contaminants, heavy metals, microbiological safety and consistency of key marker compounds.
Several of the products are AYUSH-registered formulations, reflecting Amway India’s focus on developing its Ayurveda portfolio within the applicable regulatory framework.
With Nutrilite Ayurveda, Amway India is seeking to build a bridge between traditional Indian wellness and contemporary consumer expectations, while creating a portfolio that is developed and manufactured in India. The company sees the category as an important growth opportunity and a potential avenue for taking India’s traditional wellness expertise to wider global markets.
